Reveal Face Mask Project

The Reveal Face Mask project introduced students to functional, cultural, and historic aspects of masks and brought them through the process of employing cross-domain influences in the creation of innovative outcomes.

Students focused on building an influence map, creating 2-D ideation sketching, and evolving their concepts through 3-D experimental prototyping. Taught in partnership with a physiology class, the project intertwined IDO’s learning outcomes with lessons in the respiratory and cellular systems. Students formalized their work into an online portfolio, which could be used in application to higher education design, engineering, science, and art programs.
